Hudson City Democrats Make Second Round of Endorsements

At a special meeting held on Tuesday June 2nd, the Hudson City Democratic Committee has made a second round of endorsements for the upcoming Fall 2009 election.

Eileen Halloran was endorsed unanimously by those voting, in her re-election bid for Hudson City Treasurer.

Don Moore was endorsed for Common Council President.

On the Columbia County Board of Supervisors both Ed Cross, representing the 2nd Ward and William Hughes Jr. in the 4th Ward were endorsed unanimously by those voting, for re-election.

On the Hudson Common Council, Abdus Miah-2nd Ward, Ellen Thurston-3rd Ward, Sheila Ramsey-4th Ward, Ohrine Stewart-4th Ward, Robert Donahue-5th Ward and David Franck-5th Ward were all endorsed unanimously by those voting, as well.

Note: Vice-Chair Hilary Hillman recused herself from voting due to her position at the Columbia County Board of Elections. Those candidates who were seeking the committee's endorsement and also sit on the committee, Abdus Miah, Eileen Halloran, Robert Donahue and William Hughes Jr. abstained from voting for themselves.

At a previous meeting the committee endorsed Mayor Rick Scalera for re-election.

The committee will meet next Tuesday June 9th for the third and final round of endorsements.
