Ellen Thurston - Citizen of the Year!

Ellen Thurston has been named 2010 Hudson Area Citizen of the Year by the Hudson Rotary Club.

The Hudson City Democratic Committee salutes Ellen for her tireless work for the citizens of Hudson. The Rotary Club is to be commended for choosing such a deserving citizen for recognition.

Ms. Thurston is Third Ward Alderman and Majority Leader of the Hudson Common Council. She is also Vice President of the Hudson Opera House Board and for years was the principal organizer of Winter Walk. 

Her events calendar, "Much to Do About Hudson" is a must, for anyone wanting to know what's happening in Hudson and beyond.

There will be a reception in her honor to be held at the Hudson Opera House on Thursday, May 20, from 5 to 7 p.m. Please join us as we thank Ellen for her service.

Hudson Democrats Endorse Eric Schneiderman for Attorney General

The Hudson City Democratic Committee has endorsed Senator Eric T. Schneiderman for New York State Attorney General.

Over the past ten years, Senator Schneiderman has been a leader on pro-choice and environmental legislation, reforming the Rockefeller Drug Laws, restoring progressivity to our tax code and to provide universal health care for all New Yorkers. In addition he has lead the legislature on ethics reform.


We believe that he is the right person for Attorney General.
