On November 8, we will vote for State Assembly and State Senate (along with President, Senator, Congressmember, judges, and ballot initiatives). But before we can vote for Democrats for the State Legislature, we need to get them on ballot. That’s where you come in. To get on the ballot as a Democrat, candidates need 5% of registered Democrats to sign a petition. To be on the safe side, candidates typically seek to double or triple that number.
Hudson Democrats are supporting the process and gathering petition signatures for Didi Barrett for Assembly and Shaun Francis for Senate.
If you are a registered Democrat in Didi’s and Shaun’s respective districts, make sure you sign. All Hudson residents live within the districts.
Barrett’s district includes Hudson, Ghent, Claverack, Greenport, Livingston, Germantown, Clermont, Gallatin, Taghkanic, Copake, Ancram, and large portions of Dutchess County.
Francis’s district includes all of Columbia County, most of Rensselaer County, and parts of Saratoga and Washington Counties.
Thanks to everyone who supported our successful April petition drive for Congressional candidates.
